HORN ISLAND CHAPTER MEMBERS CELEBRATE
CAT ISLAND REEF DEPLOYMENT
CCA Mississippi celebrated the deployment of 207 tons of concrete culverts on Friday, February 17 on Cat Island Reef at the Horn Island Chapter meeting on Tuesday, March 14. The YouTube video developed by CCA Building Conservation Trust (BCT) was applauded and led to a lengthy discussion of reefs and other fisheries issues important to CCA members.

WHAT IS AHEAD!
The short chapter meeting following the Cat Island Reef presentation discussed a number of activities that should be interesting to our members. These include planning for Casting for Conservation Kids Fishing Rodeos that are being discussed with Ocean Springs and Pascagoula; a Live Catch Tournament to provide brood stock for the Spotted Seatrout Population Enhancement Project (SPEC) at GCRL; and an inshore member fishing tournament with a local establishment as landing site. Your involvement is invited and we will discuss follow-up planning for these events at a chapter meeting after the Fundraiser.
